Rockwell Recreation Center Babysitting Guidelines
Our goal: to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the children of our members to play while their parent(s) participate in activities and classes at the Recreation Center.
Label all Items
For your convenience please label all items you bring to the Babysitting Room. This includes bags, cups, bottles pacifiers, coats, hats and mittens. THANK YOU.
Change of Clothes/Diapers
Please provide a change of clothes for your infant/toddler. Parents should provide diapers and wipes for infants. For health reasons our staff no longer changes diapers. You will be immediately summoned to the Babysitting Room if your childís diaper needs changed.
No Food or Drink
No food or drink is allowed in the Babysitting Room except infant bottles.
Please take your child to the Restroom before dropping them off in the Babysitting Room. Restroom and drink breaks will be provided as necessary.
Children under 12 years of age may not be left in the Lounge Area unattended.
As a courtesy to all members the Locker Rooms are off limits to children attending the Babysitting Room. Please drop off children in the Babysitting Room prior to using the Locker Rooms.
Drop Off/ Pick Up
The parent that drops off the child must also pick up the child unless written notice is given to the babysitter on duty.
Log In/ Log Out
Parents must log in their child(ren)ís names and ages upon entry into the Babysitting Room. The digital clock in the Babysitting Room is used for time in and out logging.
Two (2) Hour Time Limit
There is a two hour time limit for children attending the Babysitting Room. Misuse of this privilege will result in your termination of the babysitting privilege.
Parent Must be On Site
Parents must remain in the Recreation Center while their child is in the Babysitting Room. If the parent wants to use the outdoor recreation facilities they must sign out at the Front Desk.
Ten Minute Cry Limit
If your child cries continuously for ten minutes you will be paged to the Babysitting Room to attend to them.
Children who are aggressive or disruptive in the Babysitting Room will be placed in a "Time Out", one minute for each year of age.
Parents will be notified to pick up their child if the child exhibits any of the following symptoms:
Your child must be symptom free for 24 hours before attending the Babysitting Room.
Contagious Skin Rash
Pus in Eye(s)
Please do not send toys from home as we do not want them to get lost or broken.
Your child may bring G-rated videos from home to show in the Babysitting Room. Please label any video you send along.
Babysitting patrons must check out at the Front Desk by turning in their time slips and paying by one of the following methods:
In-house charge - members may charge their babysitting fees daily and pay from a statement once each month.
Cash daily - members may pay cash for each visit to the Babysitting Room.
Non-member guests must pay cash at check out time.
We reserve the right to change these guidelines at our discretion.
